New Horizons Jacksonville - SkillBridge program

into the Information Technology and Cybersecurity workforce

What is SkillBridge?

The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. Service members participating in SkillBridge receive their military compensation and benefits, and industry partners provide the training and work experience.

Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval.

New Horizons Jacksonville - SkillBridge program

New Horizons Jacksonville’s certification training program is an exclusive in-classroom training program designed for veterans transitioning from their current field into the Information Technology and Cybersecurity workforce.

The program is suited for those who are new to Information Technology and those who have already spent time in the field. While attending the certification training program, the veteran will also be working with our Director of Career Services.

Our Placement team will provide the veteran with mock interview sessions, revamping of their personal LinkedIn account, reconstruction and personalizing their resume to meet the requirements of the applicant tracking system (ATS).
